Julia Armfield combines everything that I love in one anthology: A gloomy tone, an eye for details--especially the gory details-- and a set of peculiar women with characteristics that overlap with the fantastic. My favorite is "The Great Awake." Cannot wait for Armfield's debut coming soon.
