“You’ve given me so much. Taught me how to love. Be loved. I had to do something. Coming here felt daunting, but I shoose grwoth over security.”

I recently finished reading another amazing book by M.A. Wardell  . I have been a fan of his writing since I first read the Teachers In Love series over a year ago. “Napkins and Other Distractions” continues the story of Kent Lester, the principal of Lear Elementary School, and Vincent Manda. Kent, who we met in “Mistletoe and Mishigas,” is divorced and is now exploring his bisexual identity. Vincent, whom we met in “Teacher of the Year,” has struggled to move past the friend zone in his dating life due to his OCD. However, everything changes when he goes on a first date with Kent and discovers new aspects of himself. As they spend more time together, their feelings for each other deepen.

I was impressed by how M.A. Wardell tackled themes such as sexual identity and discovery in this book. It was also great to see some familiar characters from the first two books in the series make appearances. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend adding this book to your to-be-read list!
