It gave me that "I can't put this book down!" Moment, & for that, & for keeping me awake until morning just to finish it, it deserved my 5th star.
The way the author brain managed to use words, damn. She could be an excellent English teacher. My dictionary have increased reading & translating this, it gave me a small struggle understanding half the time, cause I listened to the audio (& that too was amazing, miss narrator deserves an award for her hard work) & it certainly didn't help how very detailed every place they entered was described. Some comments were also, too modern, but I'm guessing they're at the future? So I'm not gonna hold that against them.
I also don't know why I expected to go through all the doors & challenges with them in this story, but I guess since it's Gideon's pov & she did not V much of the necromancy work, we will be kept in the dark for now. Not that I'm complaining, I like things short & to the point.
I'm also all in hope that being "necromancers" will actually come in handy for once & bring poor Gideon back. Like god, poor thing couldn't even enjoy that long sought after freedom.
Now, to the things I liked.
Yes, I liked almost all the charactersnot enough to cry over them, but enough to wish they lived longer everyone shared such cute moments with their partners, main mcs included, & with that tiny sprinkle of wholesome time, I was revived, lol. I don't even need said moments to be romantic, I just wanted the CUTE. & they delivered.
& sure, I held a long grudge against Harrow at the start, but I actually like her a bit at the end. For someone to get me to like a character after I identify them as an eyesore? Impressive work, author 👏🏽.
Hope Harrow's book be just as entertaining. I'm definitely jumping on this train until the end.
