This book is a narrative examination of how a mega church in Cincinnati approached the issue of racial justice. It follows four individuals 2 white, 2 Black) and how they were transformed, while teaching the rest of us many lessons on the complexity of creating an anti-racism society. It does not, however, use the complexity to caution us away from the work. Rather, it demonstrates that the work is hard but must be done.

One quote that sticks out, "I'm struck...by the ordinariness of people who change history."
