Meant to Be Mine by Hannah Orenstein

Edie Meyers has known for the last 13 years that she’ll meet her soulmate on June 24, 2022. Her grandmother, Gloria, predicts with seemingly perfect accuracy when each person in her family will meet their match. But when the man she meets on June 24 isn’t quite as perfect for her as she always imagined, Edie is forced to consider whether love finds us or vice versa.

While I absolutely loved the ending and overall message of the story, parts of MTBM were hard to read. Edie spends a lot of time and energy convincing herself that she’s happy in her relationship - it’s hard to watch someone continue to make decisions that cause them pain! However, Edie’s internal tension takes up the perfect amount of real estate in the story so it doesn’t become an emotional drain on the reader but still feels like a realistic conflict in Edie’s life. Watching Edie work through her feelings and make a brave choice is so rewarding!

Another thing I really enjoyed about MTBM: I had no idea how it would end! It’s so rare to get a true “will they / won’t they” in a romance novel! The story could have ended 3-4 different ways, but I found the ending satisfying and worth the drama of Edie’s struggle.

This charming story comes out June 7 - don’t miss it!
