Spoiler filled review/ summary:

This story is a toxic one following the relationship of Mara and Cole. Cole is the single mysterious murderer who feels like he can't love anyone or anything. He's bored with life but once Mara walks into his world it's as if he has a new purpose. The issue is he views her as a possession the whole time. Although I applaud more submissive characters and not always having a headstrong hardass as a MC, the way he spoke of her just was weird in most ways. This man needs help, and I just was not rooting for them the whole time. Mara is kidnapped in the beginning of the story which was a crazy change of pace to what I normally read and was almost left for dead by Cole's art world nemesis (I forgot his name honestly.) He eventually builds an unhealthy infatuation with Mara and she ends up moving in with him even though she has suspicions that he's a murderer - what a love story.

Honestly overall, this book wasn't good to me. I kept going because I thought it would get better but the characters just aren't loveable to me. The scene setting from the author was lacking to me and so was the plot. Cole
is a serial killer and literally only killed one or two people
other than that it was pretty anticlimactic.
