V is for Virgin by Kelly Oram
4.0
"There is too much pressure on teenagers to become sexually active," I heard myself say. "I'm not saying that everyone needs to follow my example and wait until they're married, I'm just saying that people shouldn't be ashamed or scared to admit it if they aren't ready for sex. People need to know that not everybody is doing it."
I absolutely loved how strong Valerie was, she kept believing in her values and didn't waver when anyone tried to convince her otherwise. She was a great main character! In fact, all these characters were very well done and had a voice of their own.
While this book definitely had a different feel than The Avery Shaw Experiment, this book portrays a much needed message in a way that isn't prude or preachy! There were many cute and funny scenes, but there was enough drama and heartfelt moments to ground this novel. Very much looking forward to the next one!
