Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley
Did not finish book. Stopped at 27%.
started reading this book with the expectation of a mature heroine. took me nine chapters and one weird sex scene to finally drop it.
my first problem was how often the heroine got cut off by the hero. he was a total dick anyway. maybe that's the author's version of a romantic female-male interaction, but he was toxic as shit.
another problem to me was how uncaring the heroine was of her safety. i'm not sure if it's part of her character development, and i'm not willing to find out, but i despise heroines who opens the door without checking who was on the other side when there's a literal serial killer on the loose.
apart from the characters, it was difficult to read the book. there are long paragraphs here and there, and then the heroine would go on a different train of thought. there also were oddly specific wardrobe descriptions that reminded me of my teenage years on wattpad.
