Last Night I Sang to the Monster by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

5.0

I don't know what drew me to this book. It definitely wasn't its cover. All I know is I'm grateful I was drawn to it and that I got the chance to dive into the heads of two extraordinary characters. It's not an easy read because one way or another you will either see yourself or a friend as one of the characters, which can be heart wrenching at first. But as the recovery process goes on, it becomes a story of pure hope and love. I cried at numerous parts, but depending on your backgrounds, the parts will vary. This book will hit a soft spot for everyone. It's one size fits all.
