What a finale! Emotional & exciting with good pace throughout. It feels like a proper, classic, epic fantasy (and It's pretty much the OG in this category). The Two Towers dipped a little in terms of pacing, but Return of the King heads to the finish at a clip.
It was cool to read the scouring of the shire after the ring is destroyed, as it is not represented in the films. It gives a nice round off to some storylines and clear development for the hobbits as characters.
Really pleased that I have finally read this series and it will take pride of place on my bookshelf!
