Shutter Island was well worth reading. It was atmospheric, spooky, and suspenseful. I think, had I not already seen the movie, that I really would have been blown away. As it was, it was still definitely a page-turner but the real "wow" factor was dampened because I already knew the twists of the story. If you enjoy a good suspense story, a bit of mystery, a whole lot of spooky, and a great cast of developed characters pick this up! I think I shall begin my hunt for another Lehane book, but this time I will make sure that I haven't seen the film.
