What to say about this book…

1. I listened to the audiobook, which was a lot of fun. Fun and funny is what I would call 2/3 of the book. I definitely see why a lot of people consider this their go-to book for spice. This is very spicy, folks.

2. The story does an excellent job of setting up a long list of appropriate trigger warnings upfront. There are no surprises here, and I think that’s great for the reader.

Where it falls short for me:

3. In addition to trigger warnings, I do think a disclaimer reminding folks this is a work of fiction and that stalking, bad bdsm etiquette, and vigilantism are not things you should engage in, would be helpful. The popularity of this book with young folks worries me; they may see the triggers but not critically consider that the relationship in the book is not what they should seek out in reality.

4. The last 1/3 of the book isn’t great. The quality really dips at that point, and I do think an editor should have better handled it.
