It's difficult for sequels to live up to the high expectations we build after a predecessor we loved. For me, however, One of Us is Next was the perfect blend of what I was hoping for based on enjoying One of Us is Lying mixed with something brand new that I also enjoyed.

The way that author McManus utilized the original Bayview Four from the first book as periphery characters, but focused in on a new group of friends including Bronwyn's younger sister, Maeve, was brilliant! I feel like I both got the world that I'm familiar with and the characters I grew to love (and a where-are-they-now sort of check-in) and a story that could stand on its own two feet without actually needing to know what happened in Book 1.

One of Us is Next kept me intrigued and guessing till the very end and I thoroughly enjoyed every little clue McManus dropped in along the way (without me noticing) until it all finally came together. A very enjoyable read!
