“The Heron Prince” is the second book in Kim Alexander’s epic fantasy series, The Demon Door, and it picks up right where the first book left off.
I thought this book was a fantastic sequel! I was already invested in this world and these characters, but this book went more in depth when it came to both, which is something I could appreciate.
There’s definitely a lot of political intrigue at play here, and that’s part of why this series is so interesting! I also enjoyed the character development of the established characters, and learning more about new characters.
I also really loved how complex this world is. So much is happening at once, but it all ties together, which results in plot twists and aha moments that I don’t always see coming. The cliffhanger ending was also a shocker, and I’m very excited to see what happens next in this series!
