A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine

This is a good political scifi book for fans who aren't generally into political scifi. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this, and I think it's because the characters are so dynamic and appealing. I particularly enjoyed the Teixcalaanli naming system, it made the inevitable wade through made-up nonsensical scifi names so much more bearable. Alien names, using recognizable words. So smart. Thank you, author! I've grown very attached to the characters, particularly Yskandr (Okay, maybe the Lsel Station names still suffer from scifi bs haha) and Three Seagrass. I can't wait to read the sequel!
