Shame On You by Amy Heydenrych

3.0

I really enjoyed the way the author explored the concept of being "Insta-Famous" and the depths people will go to to be popular and loved, particularly online.

Shame On You's plot is extremely engrossing and is unlike anything I've read before. Psychological Thrillers would be one of my favourite genres but a lot of the time I can find myself feeling a sense of deja-vu as they can be very "samey". This however has a very unique plot which kept me reading.

The two main characters - Holly and Tyler are very complex. The author really makes you go through a plethora of emotions as you learn more about them. You catch yourself thinking "well, I can understand why they did that..." but you still may not like them. I thought the characters were extremely well written. Although some of the little inconsequential choices Holly makes in the book annoy me (the locks Holly! The locks!!!) and I scratched my head a bit?!

The ending was good but I think I expected a bit more, although I feel like there is probably a second book coming which I would 100% most definitely read!

This book gets three and a half stars for me as it was well written, pacey and the characters are complex and make you really think.
