Obsidian

Obsidian is the New Species male who has been in a coma since Mercile (a.k.a. evil corp) experimented on him and killed his mate. Alli is the human doctor who takes extreme measures to save Obsidian when others have given up. Her actions as a doctor were questionable, but I can’t deny it made for a good story.
I really enjoyed how much of this story was about Obsidian getting used to his freedom and life at the NSO. He didn’t trust Alli, but he was undeniably drawn to her. His bluntness and demands for affection (“Lie down next to me and stroke my chest.”) were strangely endearing.
There was definitely conflict to keep the story moving, and I liked that it was mostly relationship-based conflict that felt right for the pairing and the story.
And the last 10% of the book? 🥹🥹😍
My favourite of the series so far!
