This book is just so agonizingly boring and frustrating. The ending, despite all the reviews, was terribly predictable. I DNFed at 40% but then decided to continue reading despite my boredom because the reviews about the twist seemed enticing. This book was not well written, poked fun into tropes in a cheeky way but then proceeded to engage in the very ones it ridiculed (“messy buns”). The main character, Ro, was painfully annoying and pretentious. I love gore, and horror but this book did a very cheap job of writing and honoring those genres. Overall very disappointing and disturbing for no good literally payoff.
