This sparse text picture book would make a perfect New Years lesson in a library or classroom setting. Reading it could inspire students to create their own invocations for the new year, or even just celebrate snow more. The illustrations are very intricate, in a etching type style, and tell a story all on their own (independent of the words on the page) which can lead to opportunities for student observation and analysis. Recommend, especially for a classroom setting!
