Another stunning black historical romance by Ms Bev. The way she weaves history with brilliant storytelling and romance is insane to me. I’d met Cara Lee and Chase before but nothing could have prepared me for their whirlwind story. This had some heartbreaking moments, with the frank reality of what life was like for African American people in this part of history but this story shows us that they still lived, loved, had dreams just like us. Just wonderful.
