Faith, Volume 1: Hollywood and Vine by Jody Houser

3.0

Props to Jody Houser for writing a fat, female superhero who is not sexualized in any kind of way. I enjoyed the art especially when Faith would go into her daydreams.

But for the most part, the plot was meh to me. I don't think I will be continuing with this series. I understand the homage to Superman with Faith having to juggle her identity as a superhero while holding a job as a journalist but at the same time, I felt like it made her story line less exciting. She is able to fly and control...air? I'm assuming because I wasn't too sure.

I think others who haven't read as many superhero driven comics might be more interested in Faith's story. I feel like other than her character design, Faith is a bit repetitive as a super hero.
