It was a very nice book and the writing was so fast and smooth, which I liked, although it took me way too long to read it because of how busy I was. I loved Talin and I loved how she portrayed such a strong young woman and her struggles in a country that did not welcome her. She is a symbol of resistance and love, a symbol of one-sided welcoming. No matter how many walls she found in her path, she never lost her herself, her identity, and that is truly admirable. Though I found the plot itself not too original, Talin upgraded this book entirely for me. The last battle scenes were a bit too rushed in my opinion and I was a bit shocked at the ending. Not because of what is offered to her but because I thought it was a standalone book AHAH I am looking forward to what will be happening in the second book. I also wish we had just a bit more insight to the other characters...sometimes they felt a bit shallow even though I knew their stories had the potential to be so much more interesting and valuable.
