This is one of those books/series that - EVERY time it comes up as a recommendation - is stressed as a TRUST THE PROCESS kind of story. Good lord. By the end of this one I was trying REAL hard to trust that process, given how much sexual violence happened in this one.
*I'm writing this having read the other two and yes, the series ultimately landed for me. But dang, I was not sure for a minute there.
