Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

4.5 rounded up!

Really fun book. I'm amazed how Meyer was able to balance Cinder's, Scarlet's, AND Kai's narratives while keeping the pacing steady and exciting. In hindsight everyone's stories were pretty simple, but as I was going through them it felt like I had no idea what to expect. Wolf is great. Probably my only real qualms with the story are that it didn't have much to add to the worldbuilding like it did in Cinder - cyber-France just ain't as cool as cyber-China, sadly - and that Queen Levana didn't have really all that much to do in this installment. (If I'm really nitpicking I'd say the Wolf x Scarlet romance felt much too quick as well, but that's just me being iffy about falling in love with people you just met in general. They bounce off of each other well and have a decent foundation for their feelings.) Other than all that it was a really good time!
