How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix
4.0
Hendrix knows how to write a story that has been done before in a way that keeps the reader hooked and guessing. Haunted houses and possessed puppets are nothing new in the horror genre, but that does not make this a dull story in the slightest. How to Sell a Haunted House blends a classic horror-movie concept, blends it with family drama, nerve-tingling character development and gut-wrenching horror scenes to create a story that lives up to its classic nature.
The final quarter of the story ran a little dry. The book could undoubtedly have held it's own after the first "boss battle" sequence. But the intriguing storytelling and conclusion was something that rounds this book out in a way that will like readers feeling chilled but satisfied. Highly recommend the audiobook if you want a Chuckie-like screech to fill your nightmares.
