More Than the Game by Jenni Bara, Jenni Bara

This is an amazing start to the series. There is a lot that happens in Marc and Beth’s story but everything serves a purpose to advance their story which is really well paced.
Beth is such a strong character. She has had so much thrown at her in her life yet she has remained (relatively) unjaded. Beth is the beating heart of her family which includes seven brothers and her two young children.
Marc’s relationship with his father and his parents’ marriage has had such a negative effect on his opinions of relationships and how he views himself. So while he wants to pursue Beth, he doesn’t plan on forever with her.
When she was younger Beth was ‘thrown under the bus’ by her family and the media after an incident that she had no control over; due to Marc’s high profile media presence she spends a lot of time rejecting his advances and her attraction to him.
I loved seeing Marc change as his and Beth’s fake relationship slowly became more. He was such a swoon worthy hero, especially once he knew Beth’s past and did everything he could to protect her.
I loved how chaotic and loving Beth’s brothers were and how authentically her children were written, especially sassy Mandy. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
