Timely

With the technology available to us today, it gives us so many ways to communicate with each other... positively or negatively. While it is easier to communicate with someone half way across the world, it is also easier to reach a broader audience when someone wants to bring attention to something that can bring the most damage to someone else. And when the user is a 13 year old boy who has no real sense of what he is doing the consequences can be extreme.
Dan/Ken had no idea posting a picture of a kid that he wanted to ridicule would end up in that kid taking his life.
And while Ken didnt mean or want for it to happen, he has to live with the fact that his action was the one that pushed Liam over the edge. And on top of that, being charged for a more serious crime to be made an example nearly killed him.

Blunt brilliantly brought to life Dan/Ken and the turmoil he was going through-from being ousted from his community losing friends who laughed and partook in what he posted and having to move from place to place until he changes his name and was able to be seen for who he really was and not the mistake he made.

The only part of this story that I couldn't quite grasp was the romance between Dan and Julie. There just never seemed to be that chemistry between them. They played well off of each other, and the two together were fine, but there was something missing for me. Maybe because they were both keeping something from the other.

I just hope that anyone reading this book might take the time to really think about things before hitting that send button.
