4.5

This book has some of the most well written characters i have read about in a while, there was not a single character we met that was simple or two dimensional these characters were all so fleshed out and just. So. Real.

The story (while a bit drawn out) was so captivating and really had a perfect balance of the romance and the personal life of Mungo, where you got just enough from both worlds to keep you completely hooked on both sides of the story.

The book follows two different timelines one where mungo is out fishing and one a year or so prior, and the way the flashbacks are written are absolute genius. You are told only the parts that you already know and as the plot progresses the flashbacks just get more detailed and darker ohhh so much darker and every time you think aha now we are getting the whole story you get even more information.

( i refuse to belive that the book just ended like that…. Headcanon is they ran away together anyways)
