Gahh this would've been a 5 star read if it wasn't for a few elements in the book and my mood! I was in a romance rut just before reading this so this might've not been the best option to read but it had been on my TBR for who knows how long so I wanted to get it over and done with.

While I do think it was a great sequel to the first book, I feel like it lost it's essence a bit that The Hunger Games had so much of. Not completely, just yk. Also I felt myself rushing through quite a bit of the plot? Again, probably just my mood but idk, some parts seem genuinely boring and couldn't read it word to word without giving up and going on Tiktok instead.

Good book, even a great book, but read it at the wrong time. Will definitely re-read when I'm re-reading the The Hunger Games series

How I was able to fathom the courage to skim over half of this book will haunt me for days. This was amazing, I'd say better than The Hunger Games. I actually could not stop reading. And it didn't lose its essence at all? Not sure where I got that from... I'm so pleased that I reread this as when I first read it I was definitely not in the mood. Such a fantastic and thrilling 2nd instalment to The Hunger Games series, and I am more than excited to read Mockingjay.
