You Beautiful Thing, You by Saffron A. Kent

3.0

this book definitely took me a minute to get into, but mostly because I’m not a huge fan of my romance books being so long. I usually read like 300-550 page romances and that’s like the perfect length for me because anything longer, it gets repetitive and a bit wordy which then makes me lose interest. and to be honest, I did lose interest for a minute but in the end I came back around.
And I think I was able to come around to enjoy the book because I got into the mindset that it was crazy. The plot the characters the conversations, they were all absurd and wild but if you’re just going in to have a good time, it was great! I love when the mmc is obsessed with the fmc, and Ledger for sure is like that with Tempest.. I mean he tries to trap her with a baby because he’s so in love with her hahahaha (but I do enjoy a good breeding kink trope every now and again so that was fun)
obviously I’m a sucker for a sports romance so him being a soccer star ticked that box for me. Tempest was a little delulu for me, but sometimes reading about a girl who is going through it and making some weird choices for herself is the perfect thing you need to escape from your own messed up life lol. To me, Tempest was very likable but also bordering annoying - which never actually bothered me because it helped remind us how she’s only nineteen and that she really has no idea what she’s doing other than she knows she lives Ledger. My biggest “ehh” about this book is just that I had miscommunication and that’s a huge part of this one, but that’s just a personal preference!

I’m going to read this again in a few months and see if my overall love for it has changed, but as of right now, it was just an okay book for me! It was my first Saffron Kent book and although it wasn’t my favorite, I’ve heard so many wonderful things about her work so I’ll define checking her other books out! Thank you so much for Saffron and team as well as Love Notes PR for the ARC!
