Whore
by Matt Shaw
Whore by Matt Shaw is a stark reminder that sometimes, you really do get what you pay for. Despite its intriguing premise, this book falls flat with cheap thrills and lackluster writing.
The plot, while initially promising, quickly devolves into predictability and fails to deliver any real depth or suspense. Characters are poorly developed, making it hard to connect with their struggles or care about their outcomes.
The writing itself is subpar, often feeling rushed and lacking the polish needed to elevate the story. Even the most climactic moments fall short, leaving you more frustrated than thrilled.
With all that said, the generous 2 stars are for the effort and the occasional moments of intrigue. But overall, Whore is a disappointing read that I wouldn't recommend or revisit. If you're looking for quality storytelling, you might want to pass on this one.
