The Outsider
by Albert Camus
I'm unsure how to rate this one. I've studied Camus' absurdism at school so I have an idea of his philosophy, and it translates perfectly well in this novel. The way he uses the crime and prison as a way to show the absurdity of life and how unavoidable it is was interesting. However, I feel like I was waiting for some big moment and it didn't happen, so I will definitely have to re-read it with a new frame of mind - either way, Camus is great.
