Dragon's Lair

I'm not sure if I've ever described an MC romance as adorable before, but this book is adorable. I loved Sophie and Dex. They were so super sweet together, and their banter was great. This was just a super compatible couple, and I loved their relationship.
Sophie and Dex knew each other when they were younger, but Sophie actually started dating Dex's brother, Eric. They dated for many years, and then she discovered that Eric had been cheating on her. After she breaks up with him, she goes to a bar and runs into Dex, and they hook up. Sophie winds up pregnant, and Dex takes her in when he finds out so that he can take care of her and the baby and ensure he gets to be in the child's life.
This is definitely not your typical MC romance. There isn't a lot of dirty in this book. Any bad stuff the brothers do happens mostly off page with just mentions in passing. All the guys are pretty sweet and funny. I love how they were all so protective of Sophie and were genuinely happy that Dex found someone like her to be with.
There's minimum drama in the book. A few things pop up, and they're resolved pretty quickly. I think there was just enough drama to keep the book moving, but not so much that it overwhelmed the relationship story.
I had two issues with the story that kept this from being a five star read for me, though. One, even though Sophie and Dex claimed to have crushed on each other when they were younger there just wasn't enough in the story to back that up and make it believable. Two, this book really needed more heat. The sex is super bland and boring despite Sophie claiming it was really awesome. For a couple that has such chemistry throughout the book, the lack of good sexy times was extra disappointing.
Overall, I really liked this, even though it wasn't really what I was expecting when I picked it up. Will definitely be grabbing the next book!
