The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien

***More of a log than a review****
I believe this was my first time rereading this book since I first read Lord of the Rings. Rereading it is interesting as much of the tension in the book's structure - not knowing what has happened to Frodo and Sam - no longer exists in a second reading. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed it, probably more than I liked Fellowship. What most stood out to me were the shortness of the battle scenes - there are discussions of poetry that take almost as long as the battle of Helm's Deep - and the absolute beauty of certain lines of dialogue which often seem out of character with the otherwise fairly stiff character interactions. The subtle racism and classism throughout the book made me uncomfortable, but for the most part I really enjoyed it.
