The Songbook of Benny Lament by Amy Harmon

emotional funny hopeful reflective tense fast-paced

This is everything I wanted Daisy Jones to be. Not to hate on it, I love Daisy Jones and the Six but this, this is a whole lot better in my opinion. Although we can't really compare the two, it talks about different topics, but fans of Daisy Jones will surely love this one too.
It is a story about change, family, connections, racism and love, not just the romantic one but love for music too. The writing is so good, it flows smoothly and writes so convincingly it feels like reading a real-life character. I can feel their love for music, it makes me feel like a musician. I fell-in-love with all the characters, their banter (oh, their banter is top-tier) and their love. One of the best books I've read this year and one I'll surely be thinking about a lot.
