I am officially a huge fan of this series! The sequel is even more thrilling than its predecessor, packed with drama, action, twists, and intense moments, all created with beautiful and emotional prose. I cannot stop reading these books!
The story picks up right where it left off and kicks into the drama and action. The characters become closer and bond, especially Archeron and Haven. Their bond is a lot more romantic and swooning this time around, and I found myself wanting a connection to be built between them. Haven continues to react in her situations, yet I still sympathized and cheered for her, despite her stubbornness. Archeron's past is revealed and my heart broke for him. Bell's journey takes him to some amazing places, and my heart broke for him by the end. But Stolas... Stolas will always be my favourite. Complex, brooding, though a giant teddy bear inside, I adore him. I wish that certain side characters got more time in the spotlight, but am so happy with all that I learned!
The book is packed with twists, thrilling revelations, and betrayals that completely changed the situation. The intensity is through the roof and I can only hope for more in future books. I love the action, the creatures, and the lore. This is a complex world with a detailed magic system and such imagination from the author. Grey is clearly having just as much fun writing these books as we are reading them, and I for one am so grateful.
The epilogue promises more excitement, adventure, and character growth in the next books, and I cannot wait to dive into this world. It's been such a thrilling series, and I am ready for more!
