Growing up I was always a big fan of iCarly. And I loved Jennette’s character, Sam, because I felt most relatable to her. Seems to have a chip on her shoulder, doesn’t necessarily like to get close to people, etc.

I finally read Jennette McCurdy’s memoir β€œI’m Glad My Mom Died” and I was completely blown away. I think anyone who’s going through an ED and/or mental health issues could benefit from this read. This was an amazing inside look at Hollywood and how the actors are being treated.

Some might disagree, but I enjoyed how she spoke of past events in present tense. I think it added something different to the book and, for me, it made me feel like I was with her in those moments and was able to better understand what she was going through at that time.

If you go into this book thinking there’s going to be a lot of β€œfunny HAHA” moments, I promise you’ll be disappointed. Jennette’s humor is more subtle and dry and she’s incredibly blunt, which I appreciated with this read.

Highly recommend!!
