Bitter Sweet Heart
by H. Hunting, Helena Hunting
POV: First person / Dual
Genre: Reverse Age Gap / Forbidden / Student & Teacher / College Romance / Sports Romance (Ice Hockey)
Maverick and Clover's first encounter involved a lost paddle-boarder with sunburn, after the two end up having a hot summer night together Maverick doesn't think he'll ever see her again. Fast forward to the start of Maverick’s senior year, and he finds himself in an awkward situation, his hot one night stand is now his professor...
Bitter Sweet Heart was at its core, a very character-driven novel, there is a wonderful storyline but that’s not what captivates you and compels you to read on, it is without doubt, the characters.
Maverick and Clove’s connection was undeniable and their chemistry was phenomenal.
Bitter Sweet Heart was a wonderful read with its humour, heartbreak and hotness. Although it ticks the adorable and fun boxes of a college romance, Maverick is an old soul so the book never feels juvenile, and the relationship between him and Clover is not only believable but has a wonderful equality to it in which the age gap becomes inconsequential. The book is filled with angst, depth, romance, forgiveness and overcoming obstacles, both physical and mental.
4.5⭐️
