Super interesting characters and made me feel accepted in this community of weirdo, outdoor adventure extremists that I am realizing I belong in. I didn’t like how the author tended to over-glorify the craziness of some of the characters for the purpose of a driving plot, but I understand in the context of the race and I honestly think some of the characters were that crazy. Loooved the discussion on science of running, humans as endurance species, and history of shoe design, I’m already changing my stride and shoes selection.
