The Girl in the Blue Coat by Monica Hesse

5.0

Monica Hesse has done an amazing job telling this beautiful story set in World War II. The story line was highly engaging the whole way through. Monica Hesse has put a lot emotion into this book and it was an extremely accurate read. The story isn't just historical fiction, it is also full of mystery and so much more!!!!

THE CHARACTERS! Ah, I loved every single one of them! The more you read the better it gets as Hanneke is pulled deeper into the mystery of a missing Jewish girl. The character development is absolutely fantastic, especially the changes we see in Hanneke.

My Recommendation: I would HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone, but especially those who enjoy historical fiction. I will be forcing my friends to read this one. Would be suitable to around age 13+ (if they have previous knowledge of WWII). I would say there wasn't anything inappropriate in the book except if readers are unaware of the events of WWII it could be quite confronting.

Top Notch book to start of 2017!
