This is book three in the author’s Brooklyn Kings series and features a second chance romance ten years after Patrick and Fallon met in a private, discreet (to the point that names weren’t allowed and everyone was forced to wear a mask), club. Ten years after they fell in love without even knowing who the other was…except Fallon had accidentally recognized Patrick as a college football player on his way to the pros. Ten years after he refused to hurt Patrick’s career and disappeared breaking both their hearts.

This was such a sweet read with Fallon giving up what he wanted most in order to protect Patrick’s promising career as a starting quarterback from being destroyed. Personally, I thought he gave up too easily but it made for an awesome book and ten years later they’re finally back in each other’s lives with Fallon as Patrick’s personal assistant though Patrick doesn’t recognize him. I LOVED how Patrick compared the beginning of their relationship and it’s sudden demise to a false start—a term common in sports—suggesting that the first time, simply wasn’t the right time for them but now, after all they’d been through, they were finally getting their chance to be together, it was seriously so dang sweet and had a fated feel to it.

Including first times, second chances, hidden identities, not too terribly much angst and an awesome HEA, this was such a good book and one I recommend whether or not you’ve read the two previous books, though I think you’re probably gonna want to as I’ve enjoyed all three. In my opinion, it’s a must read. 4.5 stars!

I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.
