The Book That Matters Most
by Ann Hood
I had planned to skip this month's book club read based on how much eye-rolling the description caused me to do but then felt guilty and started it at the last minute just to get the gist. Fortunately it's a bit of a page-turner and an easy read so it only ran about 3 hours, start-to-finish! Take that book club read!
The book starts out a little meh, gets going pretty good with the side tale of the troubled daughter, but then takes a serious nose-dive into predictability and requires a massive dose of "just go with it." I just don't have that much "go with it" to give.
It is a great book club read though - quick, easy, skims the surface of some hot topics, sparks thoughts of your own favorite/important books, and your own book club's dynamics.
