When God Was a Woman
by Merlin Stone
informative
medium-paced
Honestly I struggled to take this book seriously. I understand the underlying issue - why aren't women viewed as more of an equal to men? But it seems the author continuously relies on religious texts to justify women being "above" men. If we kept the societal view that we apparently had, according to her sources, then mentioned would be in the same situation women are in -- why can't we just be equal, though? Like, why isn't that the goal? Also, I find this author to be pretty biased. Reading this book has the factual standpoint of any philosophy book I read in college. I wouldn't recommend this book to others unless you're into tarot card reading.
