Closed Door Mod: Chapter 25 (some parts)
Say You'll Remember Me wasn't bad, but it definitely isn't my favorite book Jimenez has written. Both of the MCs are great and I do appreciate the tough conversations Jimenez has in this book about long-distance relationships and caring for a loved one with dementia.
However, there are several problems I've had with this book. One, the pacing was a bit too fast for my liking and when you first see Samantha and Xavier together, it ultimately makes them look like an insta-love couple. While the insta-love does make sense later on in the book, it wasn't a first impression of the two of them together. Secondly, the dad subplot was just weird. Plain and simple. I can't go over why I had an issue with the dad subplot because I don't want to spoil anything, but you'll see what I'm talking about when you read it. Finally, the whole kind-of third act break-up didn't really make much sense, especially since both of them knew what they were getting into when they agreed to do long-distance in the first place.
In summary, Say You'll Remember Me is fine but I don't know if I would reread this one.
