The book doesn't do much justice to all of it's hype. The story is well-paced initially but the falling arc after the climax was disappointing. Sehmat seems too good to be true, but once the trauma comes crashing on her, she loses her sanity. Her post Pakistan life seems rushed, and the addition of war front, however wonderfully written, isn't helping the plot.
The author doesn't allow the characters of her in-law to grow beyond Pakistani militants, a lost potential for emotional turmoil. Overall a decent patriotic read, but not the best of the ones I have read.
