Well, it's clear that Brad Thor can't write dialogue for female characters, especially dialogue among women of the purported genius and talent of the Athena group. The camaraderie of these characters read as forced, unnatural, and went on each time for far too long.
You know, women aren't all that different from men when undergoing stressful conditions; and when exhausted from a job's sustained adrenaline high, they're more likely to fall silent than engage in a gabfest.
