The Beautiful Ones by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

5.0

With a combination of historical fiction and a sprinkle of magic, I fell in love with this right away! I got major Pride & Prejudice and Bridgerton vibes from the set pieces to the romantic tensions between the characters, and I loved all of the beautifully written moments in between. I’ve always been drawn to period pieces and I could picture every set piece in my head, which made the read that much more enjoyable.

I loved following Nina since I connected with so much of her character - even in the moments where her decisions gave me side-eye. And as much as I thought I hated Valérie in the beginning, I understood her stance more as the story went on and it was so much fun to see just how far she would take things next.

This was my first Silvia Moreno-Garcia read and after how much fun I had here, it definitely won’t be the last!
