Home by Carson Ellis

Probably one of my favorite picture books I've read so far this year. I think it'll definitely be a Caldecott contender. Home is such an important part of life; the characteristics of your living space can really inform other areas of your life -- your sense of peace, your sense of well-being, etc. I like that Ellis takes both a practical look and a whimsical look at the idea of home. There are practical, concrete examples of home, and imaginative examples that will prompt discussion. I loved the subdued color palette and the folksy look of the illustrations. I feel like I could look at this book over and over and get enjoyment out of it every time.
