Horrible, HORRIBLE book. I can only surmise that Colleen McCullough must have skimmed no more than the first half of the Cliff's notes for Pride and Prejudice before taking up her pen. Wretched waste of time, that made me roll my eyes so hard and so often that I'm mildly surprised they did not pop out and drop into my stomach.
