The Cowgirl Meets Her Match by Kristin Vayden

4.0

THE COWGIRL MEETS HER MATCH is the third book in the Elk Heights Ranch series. It has interconnecting characters but can stand alone.

Sterling Garlington is ex military. He's living on his sister's ranch while he rehabs his leg, which forced him to retire from the marines. His therapist is the fiesty rancher and barrel racer, Harper. They're finding that working together is healing way more than Sterling's leg.

There's a lot of history and back story between Sterling and Harper and I won't explain it all because I don't like spoilers. I will say that I've read book 1 but not book 2...still it was easy to jump right into this one and grasp all the connections! Sterling is suffering more than just physically and of course he's a big, bad ex marine and alpha too but he wasn't over the top arrogant or an asshole. In fact, he was almost downright gentlemanly! Yeah, he may have not been completely honest but I think that hurt HIM more than Harper. Harper had some trust issues and some obstacles from her past to overcome also. She was strong, sassy and determined. They both had to learn how to lean on someone else yet they managed to heal each other and it was so sweet to watch!

Overall, this was another swexy romance. It didn't have a whole lot of drama but it was still a great little gem, a good opposites attract, slow burn kind of read. Told from dual POVs with a happy ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
